Last week I attended the book launch for my business coach Joy Chudacoff who wrote The 7 Steps to Discover Your Big Idea and Create a Wildly Successful Business. It was so exciting to see her release her book which she has worked on for quite some time. I love being able to support her and those in my mastermind group.
I first learned about Joy 3 or 4 years ago when she was a speaker at a networking dinner I attended. I signed up to receive her newsletter and read the information she had to share. I knew that she was on target with her message. In 2011 she was a speaker at the Success Summit conference I attend each year. She presented an opportunity to join a mastermind group she was forming, and I was interested. I submitted the application and had a phone call with her to see if we would be a good fit for each other. We both realized we would be able to work well together and our working relationship began soon after.
Since the start of coaching with Joy, I have begun doing things I never thought I would. I started a blog and newsletter which my mastermind members said would be interesting (I wasn't sure if people wanted to read information on such a technical topic). Earlier this year I started writing for Today's Innovative Woman magazine as an expert writer (first for their online blog, and then in their written magazine starting in September). I also began speaking to groups and in December I'll be a published author. I pursued all of these new things with Joy's encouragement. What I've heard is that coaches hold a bigger vision for you than you hold for yourself, and that definitely happened in my coaching with Joy.
