From September 22-29, I was on a cruise with Leads Club and was one of the expert speakers for the day at sea workshops. I had an amazing time and was glad I could take time out of the office for this trip. I met so many great people, and saw some fun sights too!
In November of last year, I committed to begin speaking to organizations about bookkeeping and payroll topics to educate those in attendance. About two weeks later, an opportunity to speak on a cruise presented itself. I couldn’t say no to the opportunity of going on a cruise!
My topic was “Common Mistakes Business Owners Make and How to Avoid Them” where I discussed compliance issues such as business licenses, sales tax, filing requirements for paperwork, and 1099 processing as well as bookkeeping mistakes many owners make. The comments I received let me know this is information that many need to hear, so I look forward to sharing it with other groups and organizations.
While on the trip I met some amazing Leads Club members from Northern CA and Santa Barbara. While in port, the Santa Barbara Leads Clubs had a combined mixer and invited us to join them. It was great to be able to get to know some other entrepreneurs who were not able to go on the trip.
I hope I can go on the next cruise they have (whenever that may be). Networking with new people, sharing my knowledge and seeing some new sites was so much fun!
If you are an entrepreneur and are not currently involved in a networking group, check out http://www.leadsclub.org/ to see if there is a group in your area. See if your category is open and go for a visit. Leads Club has been instrumental in my business growth, and I’m sure it can help you too!
If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to me at [email protected] and I’ll get back to you with the answers you need! And of course, if you know of any organizations looking for a speaker, please let me know.
