With the pandemic hitting over a year and a half ago, your business has had to make multiple unforeseen adjustments. You have had to adapt to situations you probably never thought would happen, and the continued surges and government regulations have brought about new procedures for life post-pandemic. One of the many topics of interest posed by the COVID-19 is the work from home option that was forced to occur for multitudes of businesses.

Now as the pandemic ebbs and flows between vaccines and variants, you may be forced to make decisions on what a post-pandemic workflow looks like. You have most likely seen countless articles in favor of continued working from home and others in favor of restoring normal office life.

In a pre-COVID world, a survey conducted by Airtasker shows that remote employees worked over a day more a month than those working in office. A survey from this past spring showed the majority questioned expect to have hybrid work continue at least until the end of 2022, while over a third are proponents of making remote work the new normal as long as the office can still run smoothly.

Whether you are sold on the work from home solution, hybrid, or return to office life, it is going to be a decision you make considering your own team. What may work for one office may not work for another.

You may also want to keep in mind if you need to implement new technology, or if the existing technology you have is sufficient to continue to allow work from home options. Many guides have been released with processes and procedures for employees to return to their office. But you may want to start thinking about creating your own guides for policies and procedures in relation to working from home.
