Currently, I am attending the Sleeter Accounting Conference where many of the top names in the accounting industry come to learn about up-and-coming things affecting our industry within the next few years. This will be my first time attending, and I am looking forward to learning a lot. Over three days I will be attending numerous seminars on new technology and applications that can help us assist our clients with their bookkeeping needs in an even better way. Perhaps it’s with add-on software used with Quickbooks that allows additional capabilities we don’t currently have available to us due to its limitations. Or learning about more cloud technology that will allow me and my clients access to the information at the same time. Of course, many of these features have additional monthly costs, so I’ll have to determine which things are right for each client on an individual basis.
This conference will also allow me to meet others in my field who I may have conversed with through LinkedIn groups where we help answer questions for each other that sometimes come up. None of us can be an expert in all aspects of the field, so it is nice to have a support group where we can assist each other (or refer the client out to them if it isn’t in an area we generally handle). Making these connections is another aspect I’m looking forward to.
I know I’m going to have so much information given over the 3 days that it will take me a while to go through it all and see what is the best fit for my business and my clients, but it’s important to me that I do so. I want to be able to provide the best resources for my clients, and attending seminars such as this will help me to do so.
I look forward to continuing to serve you with the best systems and technology available.
