With Thanksgiving tomorrow I want to take the time to write down a few things I value in my life and give thanks for all I have.
As you can imagine, I am thankful for my family. I’ve been married for 21 years and have two beautiful children (my daughter is 20 and currently attending college in Redding, CA, and my son is a senior in high school and just turned 18). I still have both of my parents and my husband’s parents (although they live in other states so we don’t see them often). I had a very close relationship with my parents growing up and I’m glad my kids were close with us as well. I cherish the time I had with my children and can’t believe I’m almost at the empty nest phase!
Secondly, I’m thankful for my business and the opportunities it has given to me. I have amazing clients, have met lots of other business owners, and have made friends through building relationships. I’ve been able to get to know other business owners well and we support each other. Don’t you love it when you really like each other and can help each other be successful? I consider many of my clients friends. I’m thankful that I’m able to earn a living supporting other entrepreneurs and removing the burden of the bookkeeping and payroll processing.
I’m also thankful I leapt out of my comfort zone this year. In February, I started writing a blog for Today’s Innovative Woman Magazine sharing helpful tips with women entrepreneurs. In May I decided to participate in a book as a co-author discussing mistakes business owners make and how to avoid them, and just last month I committed to being an author in another book to be released next year. I also started speaking to organizations educating attendees on topics related to bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and other compliance issues. I’ve had great feedback saying the information I’m sharing is much needed. I never thought I’d be a writer or speaker, but now I’m sharing my expertise through those means as well.
What are you thankful for? I’d love to hear your feedback.
