Although it has not been a main focus of my business, I have a few seniors I assist with their bill paying and account reconciliation. Each has a different reason for using my service based on their situation (not going to share specifics for privacy reasons) but each appreciates the service they receive. I’ve heard comments from them saying it is a relief they don’t have to deal with all of the paperwork, they don’t have to try to reconcile their balances, and they can trust that I have their finances under control.
I recently discussed the situation with a son who had hired me to assist his family. He is the one in charge of helping his family with the financial aspects and was re-locating out of the area (not so far that he couldn’t visit periodically, but not close enough to be there weekly like he’d been in the past.) After discussing the financial picture and his thanking me for continuing to keep his parents’ bills paid timely and bank accounts reconciled said it’s such a relief knowing they are receiving the help they need. It was a burden lifted off of his shoulders finding someone he could trust to assist with these matters.
Do you know someone in this situation that could use our services? Maybe it’s a widow who is struggling to keep her bills paid on time, or someone who is having a hard time seeing and can’t easily write checks anymore. Maybe it’s a family member in charge of helping his or her parents but doesn’t have a lot of time or lives out of the area.
