On Friday I attended the Success Summit hosted by Today’s Innovative Woman magazine. This is the third year I’ve been to the event, and I always leave with such great information. This year 6 speakers shared their expertise with us in areas such as developing a niche market, branding, mindset, and other topics. I always enjoy hearing what the speakers have to share. This year was no different.
I also had the opportunity to do networking with attendees in between the speakers. As usual, high-caliber women attended the seminar. The women attending are all running businesses and focused on learning from experts who can give them tips to improve their businesses even more. They are also looking to develop relationships with other women to assist them in growing their businesses. Each year I have met wonderful women and have had the chance to get to know them throughout the year. We then get the chance to see each other again at the next seminar, catch up, and talk about what we’ve learned.
The Innovative Women in Business awards were given in numerous divisions. I was a finalist for the Service Business of the Year and I was honored to have been chosen. I was the runner-up to a woman who has become a great support to me and my business this year. It felt strange to be “competing” against her. At a breakfast two weeks before the award was announced, she said it was nice we could spend the morning together at breakfast even though we were up against each other. I appreciate her assisting me in my business and am happy for her that she has been acknowledged for all she has done in her business and the community.
If you are a woman business owner and want to attend an amazing event, I strongly urge you to attend the Success Summit next year. It is to be held on September 29, 2013. Put it on your calendar now. You won’t regret it.
