Are you thinking of upgrading your operating system to Windows 10? Are you concerned there may be bugs and perhaps you should wait a little while to upgrade? According to Microsoft, version 10 will be the final one released. Here are a few things to remember.

Windows 10 was released on July 29th as the operating system for all windows devices including computers, tablets, smart phones, and Xbox. The upgrade is free for one year for devices which have the Pro versions of Windows 7 and 8.1, but not the Enterprise versions, or any earlier Windows versions such as Vista. It is estimated that 3/4th’s of the 1.5 billion present Windows devices are qualified.

If you would like to buy the software, Windows 10 Pro sells for $199 and Windows 10 Home is priced at $119 on Amazon.com and on Microsoft.com. Upgrading is not mandatory. As with any new system, there is a likelihood of glitches. The updates will be installed automatically. If you are willing to try the software, you may be happy with some of the new features including the start menu and voice assistant. However, there have been some negative reviews including the fact that the browser doesn’t work well with Chrome or Firefox.

New software usually has some glitches to work out but it may be the right time for you to upgrade your operating system.
