With the increase in competition, the key to success in the business world is education. The annual Connecting Women to Power Business Conference strives to provide business owners with the information and inspiration necessary to make sure they comply and are geared towards growth. It brings together leaders from corporations, government agencies, partnering organizations, and entrepreneurs to help women better navigate today’s complex business world. I have attended multiple years and each time has been a rewarding experience.

This event will be held at CSU Dominguez Hills, in the Loker Student Auditorium on Thursday, June 16, 2016. Many topics will be covered, including:

  • Building Your Brand with Media and Software
  • Capitalizing on Tax Credits
  • Funding your Business
  • Attracting, Retaining, and Advancing Employees in Your Business

These topics are covered by the Small Business Administration (SBA), The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), CDC Loans, and the State of California Employment Development Department (CA EDD), respectively. Included in this day’s events are motivational keynote and guest speakers. One of the speakers to look forward to is the Honorable Yvonne Horton, Inglewood City Clerk.

  • Other topics covered that will help new and potential business owners include:
  • Business Plan Basics
  • Managing Your Online Reputation
  • The Look of Power – Presenting Yourself for Success

There is a treasure trove of information to be gleaned from this gathering of professionals. Both men and women are welcome and the event is free. Register by clicking here or call 1-888-847-9652. Space is limited, so please register early.
