Affordable Bookkeeping and Payroll Services has been named by the Torrance Chamber as the Small Business of the Year! I am so excited to share this news. I was surprised as this is not an award that one applies for to be recognized as I didn’t fill out an application. To be honest, I don’t know how winners are determined (does the Chamber board decide, does someone nominate a business?) I would like to find out!

I do want to say that I do appreciate what the Torrance Chamber offers to local businesses and I’m glad to be a part of it. They have many networking opportunities including the monthly lunch meetings at member restaurants, special events such as State of the State (with legislators), honoring the police and fire departments, the Women in Business luncheon, and especially all the sub-groups that allow free attendance as a benefit of membership. I currently chair the Professional Roundtable of Financial Services.

I have to also give a great big “Thank You” to my staff who help make Affordable Bookkeeping a company to be considered for such an honor. Growing a business takes a team, and I’m thankful for the employees who see the vision I have for the company and want to be a part of it. Each person brings a set of skills that enhance the services we offer, and I’m glad they are a part of my company. Many of you have met them, talked to them by phone or e-mail, and have told me how much you appreciate them and the help they offer.

And finally, I want to thank my customers. Without you, I wouldn’t have a business and wouldn’t be recognized with this honor. My staff and I appreciate you for allowing us to assist you with your bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax and 1099 reporting. Your trust in us is amazing, and we are grateful for you!
